Our wonderful clients sought to add an open and inviting kitchen-diner-dayroom for their growing family to spend time together. We were also tasked with creating a separate utility and boot room, for the important but often missed functional components of modern family living. Full width sliding doors, a new patio area and retaining walls leading to the lawned area of the garden were designed to create an effective transition between the inside and outside spaces.
Uncovering a natural stream running through the middle of the proposed extension proved to be one of our biggest challenges we have faced to date… However, after digging up most of the garden and a few tears, we managed to divert the ½ meter deep natural flow and the rest was plainer sailing.
